Carbureted M113
Holley 750 DP on a custom sheet metal fabricated intake manifold
AMG reground cams
AEM ignition to run the OEM coils
722.649 trans and OFGear controls
The engine is the 113.967 from a CLS500 though I have several 113's around here. My intentions are to see what I can do with this engine to make swappable with just about any vehicle without depending on the factory Bosch ME module, DAS and harness mess that comes with it. I already have the transmission and OF controller and am just about finished with the manifold. The cams just arrived at the grinder and I am waiting for him to profile and give recommendations on the grind. I will say these cams are not my first choice and I may still go with a set of Catcams that are the specs I know I want. I also may up installing a Holley Sniper setup to make for a more modern driver friendly fuel system.

I will be able to control base ignition timing, timing advance curve, air/fuel ratio, etc. same as a tuner would but with even more flexibility. Throttle response will be greatly improved.
I agree these are great for old school hotrodding just like the LS and coyote engines, but with some originality and hopefully surprised looks when popping the hood. Thanks for the comment.
Cams are in. Stock profile cam on the right and lumpy on the left. I will just say I stole a profile from Esslinger on this one.
Block cleaned and about ready to start reassembly. I am not touching the bottom end to see what can be done with a cheap stock 5.0l bottom end. If this goes well I plan to build a 55.
Much more duration on these cams than even the AMG's.
