What wheels are you going to put?
Your limiter hits at 269 km/hr?, not fair, mine hits at 257! (159 mph), I hate that too, nothing more frustrating than that, I was showing the car to a friend today and we hit it, he was like... "THANK GOD THAT STOPED US!!!" haha, lol

Turbo, the good new about this topic is:
In Texas (which is where I live) you can't get a ticket or acused of a moving violation if a cop doesn't see you. The cop has to see you in order to give you a moving violation ticket.
The guy that video taped and posted videos from Gumball would be in a serious problem, so lets just enjoy our cars and experiences on them and forget about ugly things like traffic law.

I like that red, very distinct and very rare. Normally red doesnt work well on sedans but I have to say it looks good on that E55 as well as on the M5.

Is that a Designo Edition car? That color certainly isn't offered in the States. Looks very nice. I like the original rims a lot, but I'm anxious to see the new ones.
I, too, would be one of those fools to get Brilliant Silver/Charcoal/Charcoal. Bordeaux Red looks nice too, or Almandine Black.
I can't afford an E55 though--currently have an '86 BMW 528e.

Craig, Mercedes did not start the 'Designo' editions until model year 2000. That Red E55 is a 1999 model. Some countries get more options than the US.
I think the US market, being the largest, has pitiful options. Many small countries have more options and cars that the US & Canada can not get. Other countries had the E50 AMG and can buy E-Class with cloth seats and 4 cylinder engines and can get W220 S-Class with 3.2 liters and W220's in short or long wheel base.

i b!tch about this all the time to my dealer. perhaps we can get a petition to demonstrate potential interest, if there is interest. maybe i'm just on crack for wanting my W211 in purple or some other colour besides black, white, or silver.

E55 KEV, thanks. I forgot when the Designo Editions became available.
Those of you already upset about the limited color choices in North America will feel even more so after seeing Ahmed's Designo Purple CLK320 with purple (sort of reddish-purple) interior. He also has nice AMG wheels. Go to the W208 CLK forum and check out the CLK Picture Thread, if you haven't already.
As one who does not have money, I often visit M-B, BMW, Audi, Lexus, etc. websites and use the 'Build Your Own' feature to see the cars in different colors. My final choice almost always comes down to silver, black, or white despite my trying to keep an open mind. For some reason, if I was to buy any new M-B today, I'd choose Brilliant Silver with either Ash or Charcoal. The S-Class looks good in Almandine Black/Oyster, though.
It seems many of you also prefer silver judging by the cars listed at the bottom of many of your posts.
I was lucky to find my very first car in my favorite color, albeit with Pacific Blue interior.

Wow; I think $10,000 is actually what's tagged onto the price of your car over here when you order the Designo Edition! So you could think of you car as having it.
I must say again, beautiful color. Better than Ferrari's red--not as flat, more lustrous, but still very bright.
