I got a remote tune from Race iq in Georgia on my 01 e55 with me2.8, has kleeman headers, and Eisenmann race muffler. Try to contact them to see what they can do for your 99 with me2.0. Theres gotta be a way to tune it how do the c43 w202 guys do it??

me2.0 can be tuned. Just need to be done at a shop or by sending in the ME

Also who are you replying to? Have you dynoed your car?

Headers showed up yesterday. Super nice, 02 bungs will need to be drilled and welded into place, also have to finish out the collector. I would say these are totally worth the $900 shipped. Very very nice. Also sorry about the mess, but that’s all my 2.5in 304 stainless to build a custom exhaust. With a Velocity AP muffler.

Also I know there are a few guys asking about my kleemann headers, but they will be sold locally. To a guy in Dallas. I will let the next person know if that doesn’t happen. I would personally buy these headers before I ever bought the kleemann ones, enough though the kleemanns are easier to bolt on, no fan needed. It looks like a 5 year old Chinese kid welded the kleemann headers.

very nice, mine were a lot more expensive though i guess additional work was needed to get around old school steering box. either way happy to see you got yours!

btw i decided not to go with swain coating because they will weaken the metal after a while (trap more heat onto the metal!) i will try at some point to build heat shield or vents on the hood to get keep temps down.

Yea not sure about the swain tech doing that. Stainless reduces the temp anyways, or just wrap them. We have a custom with about 40,000 hard miles on some AR headers with swain tech and they are fine. It definitely works.

Super interested to see you document (or at least comment about) the installation of the headers.. Not sure if you saw my comment in your other thread, but a guy I know ordered these and says he couldn't get the driver's side on without removing his steering rack -- not steering box... I found that a little extreme, I'm sure they'll fit in there somehow but regardless, interested to know how it goes for you. Also to hear the beast when done and see your new dyno sheet.

My '55 will be out of storage in the spring, I need a tune. Do you tune your own there at Eurocharged (I assume you work there) or do you have a different tuner? I'd consider driving mine out depending which location you're at to get tuned and get some dyno runs done. You're making excellent numbers so far, bro. Nice work.

Well removing the steering rack if super easy, and I am sure you just have to hang it not completely remove it. I hang all Mercedes racks when doing headers, c63, e55 211, E63’s. I will be installing them in the next few weekends.

We are building a new shop, we’ve been so busy lately. Haven’t had an open lift, or a free weekend. Hopefully this month I can get them in.

I've had my Swain coated Kleemanns since 2007 and have put around 50,000 miles on them with no cracks. Perhaps I've been lucky?

Ceramic coatings work well and Swain is probably the best coating. Stainless headers have a tendency to crack from heating and cooling cycles and the ceramic coatings help reduce the temperature swings.
