‘01 E55 AMG Fan blade needed?
Has anybody ran their E55 without a fan blade? I’ve heard it doesn’t do much for cooking and since mine is bad it’s just causing the Whooshing sound. Any thoughts?

If i'm not mistaken:-
those front Electric fans to cool the Radiator & A/C condenser,
but how to cool the water pump..!?!, it will blows out in short period..?,,
and what about temp sensor..?, it will always send overheating signal to ECU, isn't..!!

Thats good info to know.. It's a bit of a gamble to run your car that way. As I've had an electric fan die out before. It didn't stop, it just got really weak over time. To the point where it didn't cool the AC condenser down. So i can only imagine the engine on top of that. That being said the Electric fans only run with the ac on or when the coolant temp is near 90-100c right? Or were you able to make it kick in sooner?

I don't think the water pump needs cooling. I'm just speaking from experience, I have over 50k combined miles without the fan or shroud and I havent had an issue

There is 1 side benefit I can think of...changing a serpentine belt on a road trip (IE in an emergency situation) is a LOT easier with the mechanical fan off.

I didn't feel a difference in power and if anything pulley alignment will be better without the fan. My car got as hot as yours once and it was because the belt on my 2 front electric fans came apart. 1 of the fans is powered by the motor and the other fan is belt driven off the first fan. Replaced that and now stays at a normal temperature. And yes doing maintenance is much easier.
