W210 E55 worth?
Considering getting an W210 E55 
and am looking at the 2000-2002 model years. Can anyone tell me what wholesale price is on a 2002 E55 w/o Nav or phone with low miles? Is wholesale price what I'd expect pay for one at an auction?

I wouldn't buy one at auction. If it's there, it's probably for a reason. A 2000 with 50K is going to wholesale for around 30. At a dealer you'd probably pay high 30's. An '02 will run 45-55K dealer price. Good luck and post pics when you get it.

Aren't auctions for lease returns, etc? I'm sure I've heard of folks here picking up cars from auctions. Maybe it was the Mercedes auctions that MBUSA has.
I'm looking at a 2002 with less than 15k miles in the mid $40s. No Starmark, no Navigation, and no phone but has venitilated seats. Does that sound like a deal?

I'd like Tectite but it's pretty tough to find. I'm looking at silver and black as well. Thanks for your responses!
It seems as if preowned cars are going for close to trade in or less these days. Is trade in the same as wholesale? Think the prices will further erode on 2002 E55s once the 2005 E55s start showing up in significant numbers? Anyone else have opinions they can contribute?
