I just picked the car up................ OH MY GOD!!!!! Calling the car the beast before wasn't justified until now. My wife said she heard me turning on to our street which is about half a mile long. I got it installed at the local porsche dealership and when i picked up the car several tech's had stayed behind just so they could hear the car leave, I had quite an audience(10 plus people). Anyways so far so good I can safely say this sound will not get old. I didn't get to cruise at speed so i can't comment on the sound. I will post more impressions gradually over the next week. If i don't post a sound clip later tonight i will first thing in the morning. If you are on the fence to get this system don't hesitate to make the move. It really brings out the rip and snarl of the car. :v

CONGRATS on your exhaust. the E55 sounds great stock, i mean i love that rumble and burble and baritone bellow. and i know that the Eisenmann Race really enhances that sound. my C32 used to be silent when exhaust was stock. but the Eisenmann Race really woke it up and i always drive all windows down even when its cold just to hear the wonderful sound. it really beefs it up and the cabin is booming with agressive bellow. and this is on a whimpy v6. i can only imagine how sweet it must be on the E55. the v8 kompressor cars sound gorgeous, i bet yours with Eisenmann is incredible! the sound must be pure badass. please do post pictures and videos! long live Eisenmanns on AMG's

Please post clips as soon as u can I really want the system but the problem I had was that Eisenman didn’t have a clip. Btw I read somewhere that someone installed the eisenman exhaust and he experienced lose of power I hope that’s not the case with you.

Its not too loud to be obnoxous is it? I'm seriously considering an exhaust system but I wouldn't want to be rudely disruptive. Also, do you think that my local muffler shop would be able to perform the install too? Can't wait for pics/vids/sound clips!

Sound

Is the sound more throaty or a growl...standard E55 is nice but more like a deep humm...if you don't mind..where to call for Eismans and $?

thx

I'm in the Sugar Land area outside of Houston the install was done at Momentum Porsche. As far as power loss I haven't felt any noticeable loss thus far. As far as the sound being obnoxious IMO it isn't all that bad. When you go WOT it sounds unreal. The clip on eisenhaus.com with the SL55 race edition is pretty accurate. I haven't had a chance to cruise at a higher speed yet so i can't comment on drone or anything like that. As far as the install goes nearly anyone should be able to do it. Two hours was the total install time.

The sound is much deeper and richer. You can go on www.eisenhaus.com for distributors in your area. The system cost $2850 and to be honest i haven't even looked at my reciept for the install I was in such a hurry to drive the damn car and get it fired up. I'll get back to you when i can look at the reciept tomorrow.

ok i know my car's not e55. but on my c32, i talked to eisenhaus about my race exhaust system. they told me that the muffler was designed to reduce backpressure from 6.9psi to 6.2psi which was according to them the minimum threshold for backpressure for maximum power. they said this was the optimum backpressure for power balance on my car being supercharged. it seems that they definitely did take into account the supercharged nature of the motor, and i dont see why they wouldn't do this for the E55 one. i have not noticed any power loss on my eisenmann system for my c32.

Congratulations on the exhaust. The Eisenmann unit really does transform the car into a more menacing beast providing a nice growl under throttle.

Its a very simple install, you can even do it yourself if you wanted.

For anybody interested, I put the sound clip for the SL55 from Eisenmann site on my webpage. Sounds nice!

Thanks.

Is that just a "cat-bacK" race exhaust, or does that car have headers, etc.? Sounds mean.

Mean, that's the word I was looking for. :p
To the best of my knowledge, it's a cat-back and that SL does not have headers, but I could be wrong.
Anybody know definitively?

Now that sounds even more tempting! But wouldn't it require welding, metal cutting, etc?
