Designo E55 Wagon
Here is a rare one that is now in my garage. It was love at first sight for me-a designo graphite E55 wagon. I have debadged it and ordered a personalized plate which reads "Q SHP". I would have gotten the more obvious Q SHIP but it is already taken. Last night I was up against an NSX and I was so tempted to dust him off, but with less than 100 miles on the clock, I restrained myself.

Congrats Shoes!!!! Great choice! You will love it but you know that.....
Once you are through the break in look out! My wifes new favorite pastime is looking for Corvettes to race.
Enjoy!

Driving observations
Believe it or not, this is my fifth E55. I picked up my last one in Sindelfingen about a year ago and ignored the break-in period on the autobahn and drove 150 mph.
My feeling is that the steering of the 2005 E55 is vastly improved, both in terms of being able to feel what is going on and also steering ease. The steering on the 2004 felt ponderous and slow. I will say this much, the steering on the 2004 was perfectly weighted for driving 150 on the autobahn, but this new one feels better at 15 mph.
Here is an interior shot. It is hard to tell the color of the seats but are they unusual, with a slight green grey cast.

If I meet you somewhere in Napa Valley, I would not guess your car it's an E55.... I would guess it's just a regular E w/ AMG kit and wheels. And if you tease me and we go for a short race, I would be scratching my head why my old E55 lost the race
Anyone knows whether the numbers for the wagon are different from the sedan?

All my cars are debadged
I debadge all my cars, I think it makes them look better, plus I don't want a lot of questions. This way, no one pays attention to me, the way I like it.
Of course, this affectation is something I picked up from my friends in Germany and I never realized the reason they do this until I picked up a CL65 in Sindelfingen and drove it across France. Everywhere I stopped, it was like I was leading a parade. I got lots of unwanted attention. In the cities, the locals told me my car would not last a week without getting keyed or stolen. Better to fly under the radar.
Below is a shot of my departed CL65, same designo graphite color.
