Any changes from 2005 to 2006 E55??

My dealer told me that I would get a 2006 E55 if I would order now. Does anybody have any news about changes/new options from 2005 to the 2006 E55? My dealer told me that the 2006 would have a 7-speed automatic transmission. Is that correct
?Thank you in advance for your answers!
Unless he is dropping a bombshell about a brand new 7-speed gearbox, the E55 wont have one. The current 7-speed gearbox cannot handle the torque generated by the supercharged V8s and turbocharged V12s.
The new SLK55 has the 7-speed but it is not supercharged.
I could be wrong but if you order now, wouldn't that mean April/May production? The 2005 model didn't start production until November last year
PS I am being serious I appreciate anything that provokes some thought, even if it is a bit twisted...

I personally don't care if I would get a 5 or 7-speed
as long as they don't continue cancelling available options like they did from 04 to 05.But chances are good that this won't be the case, based on the 06 E350 (nothing was discontinued so far).
My dealer (Mercedes Benz of Tampa) told me twice that the ordered car would def. be a 2006, so I'm confident that's correct.
I'll let you folks know after I placed my order tomorrow...
Thank you once again for this interesting discussion..

If Mercedes says it cannot handle the power i think its all just an excuse.

Just look at what Derek and Eric have done with some basic modding
Yes, thats very true, we really dont know how it will hold up in the long run. But Mercedes has always made such strong trannys, i would bet it would be ok. Just a guess though.
