Finally got some 6000k's on...
I should have done it sooner is all I can say. I just got really lazy and never got around to it. But WOW...what a difference. I got 6000k's and I'm in love. I'll try to post pics later...
I've been finding excuses to drive at night....it's freakin awesome!~!

Yeah, I have 8000K in the E55 and 6000K in the Viper (also have 6000K fogs too) and really like both colors. If I had to choose only one, I would go 6000K. I really like the blue of the 8000K with the silver car.

Install was very easy but it took about an hour because we couldn't get the driver side bulb to lock in place. It was so frustrating...But it looks sooooo good...just like mbamgpower's...

how hard is it to go from 35 watt hid's to 55 watt hid's? Does color change make it easier to see or is it just an upgrade for looks?
I hear 55 watt HID's are the ticket to seeing more at night.
Anyone try this? I know audi drivers do it all the time but I have never seen anyone here try it.
Thanks

I think you can swap them out directly if you have Bi xenon's (may be wrong) but to the best of my knowledge they should be able to swapped no problem. You can call Carrozzeria Design, there number is 949) 861.8863. Tell them you saw a post on the boards about this. My name is Sun. They will know who I am. They look almost identical to MBAMGPOWER's set up.

I've done xenon conversion on our other car, but have been putting off on the W211 since dealer warned me about the conversion can void warranty. So I've been thinking about getting the OEM retrofitted by SteveNL. But if the conversion works great in yours, I might just go that route.
Thanks

Additionally, I don't know why anyone would want to replace the factory bi-xenon HID with an aftermarket kit either.

I was speaking from the perspective of a normal bi-xenon user to that of a 6000k color temp conversion.
My understanding was that the higher the color temp the lower the light out put. As you go above the 4300k temp you start to filter out the yellow portion of the light and the total lumin out put begins to fall. As I recall the normal 4300k color temp xenon light is the brightest and yields the highest light out put.
I would think about a 55 watt conversion for my car being that its nearly 2x as bright but this requires replacement of many parts and it may not be worth the money. Also, the 55 watt kit may be to bright for on-coming traffic. No need to blind people if you don't have to.

I'm at work right now and have school later tonite. Hopefully I'll be able to get the pics up 2nite...
4300K is the pureist white in the color spectrum, thus putting out more lumious than other colors. But 6000K is no slouch either. Staring into either light for period of time will probably cause some damage to eyes. I really like the blueish tint to the 6000K lights.
Where is this Carrozzeria Design located? Do they sell/install retrofit kits?

In summary,
OEM is 4300K (brightest)
You can switch to a number of different temps, depending on the look that's right for you. If you like a little more "blue" to your lights, try 6000K or 8000K. Although they aren't brighter, they are better suited for me (I have 8000K). Unless I was blind, I think just about any temp with bi-xenon is levels above halogen. It's just up to you on what temp/color/brightness is right for you.

It might be because I just turned them on about 2 seconds before I took the pics...
Maybe I should have waited a bit longer for them to warm up???
