I just wanted to know if I would have to buy the Motorola V600 or V710 that fits in the cradle from my dealer or can I also buy one of those phones from my supplier, t-mobile f.e.?

You will probably have to buy the phone from the dealer because it will have to have the Mercedes software in it to be fully compatible.

You have other options, even if you already ordered the pre-installed phone kit. See http://www.mbenznl.com/products/phones/ for more information, I am using two Cingular supplied phones in my cars.

Yes, your dealer knows which phones are actually offered by Mercedes. They include the V600, V710, and V60.
