Actually. isn't 493 * .83 (17% loss) = 409.19 hp? On a bad day, that'll be below 400.

469 * .83 = 389.27 -- So if you take the numbers on paper, you're pretty far below 400.

Am I not understanding what you are saying?

Welcome to the board. If you do a quick search you will see dyno charts for both K2 & K3 mods.

No, he said that they have a validated process which shows the engines that perform out of spec and therefore they don't need to run the engines and they don't break them in.

Actually I was surprised by the statement, but I know what he does at AMG and his credibility is extremely high. (Might even be higher than yours.)

Are you seeing something I don't see because nowhere in the beginning of this thread did he post 444 at the crank.IMPOSSIBLE for a K3 car. That would be less than stck 463hp flywheel. He's got to mean 444whp or he's missunderstanding what he was told..444whp is over 500hp at the crank!Or something is seriously wrng.

05 E55 Pewter K3 w/ LSD
Wow,
That's awesome. 619 hp? That has to be up there in the "best possible scenerio" for a k3 mod. I have to apologize to everyone here about my angry posts last night. I was drinking beer and watching my basketball teams lose. Anyway, I'll be honest I don't know too much about cars. All I know is that I wanted to make my e55 even more of a bad *** so I sent it to Kleemanns. I spoke to Corey and he said that the car put up low baseline numbers, 444HP. I don't know if it means hp from the crank, rear wheel, or fly wheel. He said that he hopes it is low because the car only has 200 miles on it and that it has not been broken in yet. After the k3 mods it posted 547 hp. He could tell I was a little disappointed so, just like any smart business man would say, He said I should see 600-610hp in about 2000 miles. Not that I don't trust him, I have heard nothing but good things about him. But if it came from amg low, there is nothing he can do about it. Any way, I just posted here to see if anyone else here had similar situations and to get opinions on if I will ever see 600-610 hp?
Thank You Very Much,
Gianster

Re-read the posts. He had said the BASELINE was 444hp at the crank. Well below MB advertised figures.

I shipped it with only 200 miles on it and Corey just informed me that the baseline dino read only 444 hp and the stage 3 read 547 hp. He said the hp will go up between 600-610hp with about 2000 miles on it. For all you experienced users, Did I make a mistake in doing mods that early? I spoke to my mb dealership about the break in period and he said not to worry. It is only for earlier models. The 2005 is refined and as long as you stay out of the red zone you should be fine. Should I see 600hp in the future? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gianster
Where do you see at the crank?

Plus, it has been stated numerous times on this forum that Kleemann uses flywheel horsepower numbers. I just find it odd that they say the dyno "corrects" for drivetrain loss, so why not just show rwhp numbers anyway?

Attention:Medici78 ,In his first post he does not state that. That's why I reposted it to show you.He did not say any where in that post or this thread 444 crank HP was my point, but you seemed to have missed that.No big deal..

Agreed!

If it was rwhp, that would be awesome. But with so much "disappointment" in the owner and tuner's eyes, I'm assuming it was crank horsepower. Its interesting how people misinterpret the numbers. As far as I'm concerned, all I care about is rwhp. I've seen too many "500hp" big blocks turn out 300-350 rwhp to believe hype.
