Who says an E55 can't autocross?
Won the Novice class for the Martin Sports Car Club autocross in Gainesville yesterday. About 90 cars with 5 in novice. Here are a few videos.
Winning run of 67 seconds with camera mounted right behing sunroof.
Low rear side mount for 68 second run. Watch out for cones.
Here is a great wipeout in the M3 during a funrun.

Great videos man. How did you mount the camera? It was steady as a rock. There is still something amusing about watching that three-pointed star fly around the track. Of course it's funnier watching the blades of grass fly by when the M3 went off track. He sure fought that thing.
PS - How many wins can you have before you're no longer a 'novice'?

Thanks Bob, that's me driving the 55 and the M3- appreciate the compliment. It was a funrun and I wanted to see how far I could push the M. On the first funrun I drove the M and beat my winning time in the E. On the second funrun, my lines were completely off and I lost it in that section.
I used S mode but should have at least tried the manual mode.

Do you think this Stickypod thing can hold up to a time trial or circuit like VIR or Mid-Ohio etc with speed of 125+ and tight fast corners with some G's on them? If so...I'll buy one!
Great Video...keep them coming!

Here is the bug to watch out for--it's bite can be deadly.
http://www.nasaproracing.com/
Thus far:
One set of S-03 Bridgestones (6 K miles and 1 track event)
One set of PS 2 (got two track events out of them and possibly a third)
One set of front rotors
New front brake pads

AND..... One left CV half shaft as of yesterday!
I have some video that I will post from both Mid Ohio and Road America Wisconsin (150 mph on the front straight).
New purchases:
Toyo RA-1 race tires
New Kleemann brakes all around (will be here in 4 weeks +/-)
New air ducts to the front brakes
Fikse 18" racing wheels
Timing system
Additional seat belt/restraint systems
More info to come.

While that may be partially true, honestly, I think your time was faster because the straight line acceleration of the E made up for the lack of cornering speed and ability. I would be hard-pressed to believe you were going faster through the turns in the 55.

I Agree. Also that course is pretty fast by Solo2 standard. Most of the course from SCCA events I attend are much tighter than that.
