Anyone run 18" front 19" rear?

If I go the custom rim route I was thinking about keeping an 18" in the front and going to 19" in the back. For my taste the 18" is nicely sized for the front end styling but looks a little small in the back. I've owned several cars that came with different diameters front and rear, my Elise being a recent example, but they usually have only a one size difference in the tire's aspect ratio. It seems like having a 40 series in the front and a 30 in the rear might result in some strange handling characteristics but I just don't know. Has anyone tried this on their E55 or similar car? Thanks.

I would save running different wheel diameters for NSX's, Vettes and exotics. 19"s are a very nice choice for an E55 and even nicer with a big fat lip in the rear.

Agreed. Unless the car came from the factory with different wheel sizes front and back, I wouldn't bother. It would look stupid on an E55, IMO.

As long as you keep the overall wheel diameter the same there won't be any adverse effect to handling, for example 245/40/18 + 275/35/19 will have similar overall diameter. 18F + 19R will look HOT!

I think 18 front and 19 rear would look hot. Keeping the 18 in the front also let you keep a better steering feel becaus of the lighter weight of the 18s. Go for it and post some pictures.
