Went to the Dealer due to TPMS not working....bad news!

They stated that both of the front wheels are bent!!! Yikes; they want $850 per wheel for replacements.

I have a call into wheel collision to get take on fixing the old ones; they don't seem hopeful. They are also looking for some refurbished wheels; once again they don't seem hopeful. This is such a shame; the risk of running stock wheels with winter tires! Damn NJ roads!

Please let me know of a good source for OEM wheels other then the dealer? I am also interested in opinions on refurbished wheels; I think that I am open to the idea; I would also send mind out to get repaired if possible.

Thanks for the help!

Wow...$850 is really on the high side. I had a similar problem with my SL and I got two rears 18" original AMGs (same as Sport Pack) for $840. I forgot where I ordered them from, but it was a dealer in Oregon.

You can get a full set on ebay for around 800, and then sell me the rears to use for drag radials.

the wheels can be repaired properly for around $150 a piece if they are not completely obliterated,i had a factory 20" wheel off of my x5 that had been curbed severely i had it repaired, trued.and repainted to factory specs, couldn't even tell it had been damaged nor repaired.locate a good wheel repair shop or call turbax at 800-395-4914 there in miami, but i believe there are other locations as well ,don't waste you're $$ on replacements when they can be fixed, some places are better than others that is why some may tell you they can't be repaired, others just want to make money off selling you new or refurbished ones.unfortunately some are under the misperception that people who drive expensive cars lack the knowledge on methods of repair and associated costs, that is why this forum is so valuable.

The big pain in the a@@ is figuring out what to put on the car while your wheels are out being repaired. I had some curb rash on one of my Z06 rims. I found lots of places that wanted to repair the rim, but had a hard time trying to find a wheel to "borrow" while my other wheel went out for repair. Does your E have a spare? I was under the impression that pre-05 E55's had no spare.

Tirerack has decent prices on AMG stuff. Shop around $850 for one wheel is a ripoff.

Yes, even at their retail, T Rack is

about $500ish bucks a wheel for fronts. I'm assuming you're talking about the standard one piece E 55 wheels, right?

Dumb question:

Do the wheels being bent make sense to you? Did you hit something? Why is your dealer saying this? Hitting something hard enough to bend 2 wheels is something you'd likely remember
