newbie here with ?s on e63
I'm new to this forum but I've been reading it for a while now and have thouroghly enjoyed it. I've also kept up with the M5 forums and have to say that the audience here is much more mature and well-mannered.
Now, I don't own any MB cars and won't pretend to do so, however I have a deep admiration for MB especially with 3 letters on it AMG. I will hopefully own one in about 7yrs.
My parents do own MBs but they aren't AMGs yet. I've convinced my father to test-drive the E55 and he did it twice. I think he is sold on getting the car. But, since I've been reading the rumours/speculations about E63 I told him to hold off and wait for the new car to come out. It might be 2007 before E63 comes out, but in the grand scheme of things it's really 1.5 years away.
Sooo, do you guys think that I'm wrong in asking my father to now wait until the E63 comes out? He is really in no rush to buy a car, and I want him to get the best.
Any answers are greatly appreciated.
enjoy life while you can. you can always upgrade
if needed at a later date. but really who knows when
the next model will come out.
the "next car will always be better" and you will keep waiting and waiting
Hopefully by the time the new model comes out I'll start saving for one b/c I will be out of my med school.
I guess then I will tell my dad to get it while it's still hot and enjoy it! It will afterall be a benchmark for many sports cars for years to come. I have ridden in one and it took my breath away. And that was after test-driving the new 545i, which we thought was pretty fast.
It really is in a class of its own and I don't think new M5 owners will peg their redline with every shift just to extract best acceleration.
Thanks again!
My dad did by ml500 from this dealer a few years back and the dealer was very pleasant, cooperative, and gave a great deal/discount.
The only problem, well, actually it's not, my dad now lives in Ft. Lauderdale area and there are quite a handfull of those blasting around! So he won't have a problem picking one up. Of course, I'd like him to not pick it up from the lott but to custom order it. Dealer says it'll take up to 6months for that one to come in.
As far as transferring that E55 to me in 3-4yrs, I kind of doubt it, b/c I'd like him to enjoy it, and it won't be far away for me from then to get my own
.
