Video Input/Backup Camera with Command Console

Has anyone successfully installed a video input on a 2004 E Class, or any 2004 MB for that matter?

Who ever ordered my car before I bought it (the original purchaser fell through) did not order it with parktronic (I don't understand why this gentleman didn't buy a basic feature for a $90k car) and I would like to put in a backup camera.

It appears there is a video input on 2003 and earlier MB Command Console models, but I'm not hearing anything concrete re: the 2004+ models.

Also, does anyone know if the US version of 2004 MB with Command Console can still have the TV Tuner (video input) option enabled at the dealer?

I appreciate any help or guidance.

I don't believe the '04+ cars have the necessary inputs to install a TV tuner. Other experts such as Steve or Schorchie would be able to tell you more info...

You'll have to upgrade to a EURO COMAND in order to get TV tuner function and inputs for AUX video sources such as a back up camera.

NONE of the 2004 and up W211s with US spec comand have the possibility to connect any video input...
Most of the euro 211 comands do not have the required connectors for TV/video either.

retrofitting parktronic is possible btw and might be easier/cheaper then trying to get a rearview camera connected to the US comand.

greetingz,
