It seems that there's a couple of slight variations on this depending on the car, but I have yet to find a Mercedes that this does not work on. My '04 C32 and '05 C240 both require that you hold down the trip reset button for about 30 seconds, then press three times fast for it to activate. The C32 will reset itself when you turn it off, the C240 stays in Dyno mode until you tell it otherwise -- but the menu remains available until you select "off" even if you turn the car off and back on.

I'm not sure if it's the year, or the model, or both that determines exactally how it behaves. More or less the fundamentals seem the same. Key in, position one, hold reset, click three times, page down, +/- select dyno mode. As for turning it off, it seems universal that all models will complain loudly, and repeatedly if dyno mode is still enabled by flashing ABS and BAS warnings.
I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but I've had my C32 get stuck in "limp home" mode twice after some spirited dyno mode driving. The car seemed to return to normal after turning it off and back on again. I've never tried drifting the C240 -- I guess I have something to occupy me after dinner tonight. :p

C240 got stuck in limp home mode, too. I was going about 20, dropped it into 1st gear, stabbed the brakes, whipped the wheel around and floored it. It automatically upshifted to 2nd gear halfway through my turn then refused to upshift or downshift. Everything returned to normal after turning the car off and back on.

Will this work on the CLS as well? Sorry if this has already been discussed. Also too, can someone maybe email me that vid? It isn't coming across real clear. TIA!
