I was a big fan of the Toyo T1-S when I had my 740i, but when I put a set on my E55 and could not keep any sort of traction my confidence, especially on wet corners, went way down (which ironically was what I felt confident about with those tires on my 740i).

It's a great priced tire, but I feel it's just not the right level for the E55.

 

I had the F1 GS-D3's on my E55 and I thought they sucked badly. The traction was OK but the low speed noise was very excessive and got even worse on roads/bridges that were groved for drainage. I even pulled over one time because I thought I had blown a tire. They were that freakin' loud! I have the Michelin Pilot Sports on my car and they are very nice. I would not buy the Goodyear F1 GS-D3's again.

 

Anyone knows what the lifetread on the PS2s is? I do floor my car off the line once in a while but never take it to the track.

Thanks for all the input, I went ahead and got PS-2's from Tire Rack and am having them installed today. Will let you know my thoughts after a few days with them.

 

You won't be disappointed.....cept when you try them at the track.

Try some corners....they're now actually fun.
