1st malfunction message

Finally got my first malfunction message yesterday...

It was Key... Check battery!

Apparently the batteries on my key chain needed replacing.. I've only had this beast for about 1.5 years. I really don't know where it uses alot of it's battery life. Since I have keyless go, does it mean that by using keyless go it takes battery life? I haven't once used the key in the ignition.

Yes the Keyless GO seems to consume more battery life than when not using the Keyless Go functions. I just replaced my batteries on monday as well in my key. My wifes key is still doing fine.

SL 65 AMG and E63s AMG
Keyless Go fob is emitting a signal all the time. It's amazing to me that it will work for 1-2 years on the same battery.

I just replaced the batteries in my key today. Not keyless go, but the key has had a very, very weak signal lately. I have however, been getting a message when I have a passenger in the car that says "Passenger airbag activated. Check owner's manual" and when there is no passenger, it says that the airbag is deactivated. Does anyone know why it would tell me such an obvious "fault"? I'm taking the car in soon anyway, so I don't think its too big of a deal.

Sounds like a problem with the cornering headlings - maybe the lights work but the active conerning feature is not working.

I've checked and the active cornering feature does work.. Since I've gotten that message, I've been not blessed by reproducing it by it doing itself again for me. Fortunately I was able to take a picture of it this time.

Had this on my car. The unit has failed to pass the self test and will need replacement. BE SURE that the dealer protects your paint! They are supposed to remove the bumper prior to service but they usually don't. On two cars I've had them scratch the paint because of this!!
