An inside view of 2005 E55
Observe stainless+rubber studs pedals, standard on 2005. I am still trying to source the 4th piece ie. footrest, which is apparently available in the Sports
Pack on all E-Class.
Watching motor racing on TV, what else...?
We still get the "proper" console with a cell phone cradle under the arm rest and thanks goodness for that! No need for "supersized" 1 gallon bucket holders, LOL. I use a nifty can holder which fits under the flap directly in front of the arm rest. You remove the square box and insert an optional (at least in our market) fold-out can / small cup holder.
I changed the cheap black plastic insert in the gear shift only and replaced it with a CHROME "AMG". The E500 Avantgarde Satin Chrome was much better but Mercedes needed to save anothur buck, I guess. I am still looking for a nice wood/chrome gear shift - any tips?

and you still need the same key in your pocket as everyone else, I refused to pay thousands extra for a glorified "START" button....
where did you get the cup holder insert?
How much?
Its a pain that the car doesn't have a cup/can holder.
Thanks
Go to your dealer, it is a Mercedes original part. Look inside the little flap in front of the BIG console. Pull out the square plastic box/insert. You will see that there is a rack for the cup hoder mechanism already installed.
Just insert the new cupholder until it clicks into place. You will be amazed at its ingenuity. It will even work better for you because you sit on its left side.
Mercedes Part No.and description: "BRACKET,CUPHOLDER A 211 680 00 14"
Cost: unbelievably, only about about $60.00 !
