Yes it is. Its already chrome. But what the hell could it be? Knowing Peter it could be anything lol, since he does have a fascination with chroming and polishing things lol.

hint. i polished it so it was originally dull. since i polished it, it must be alum? stainelss? and comes as oem on every e55 made.

the "49" in the part number is the group number that this part will fit into. "49" relates to the exhaust system

I tried to google that part number, but couldn't find much.

I'm 99.999% sure it's the muffler now.
