Dallas area guys.....
If you heard commericals on the radio and tv for the Street Warriorz event at Redline Raceway....that's MOI.
It's a new event Kuhmo Tires is sponsoring to try to get people off the street and onto the track to race for fun.
They are trying to make it a race and party......they got the Penthouse Pets coming....blah blah blah...
From other cities we have done, it can get pretty wild with drunk ricers, so you make the call whether to bring a $100K car down there. Sure would be fun to have a Beast down there to represent.
Sorry bout the shameless plug...just wanted to let you know when you hear/see the commericals on the air....that's a fellow Beast owner doing it.
Gates at 6 Saturday June 5th at redline.
Enjoy

That's so awesome, I wish our local raceway would do something up here. Or maybe some sponsor or something. Jakpro1, I'm glad to hear everything went well for you and your family this week.
P.S. I get my car back on Monday, now got to decide whether or not to get a new C55 or join the E55 club next week.

I've heard of people icing down their engines between races. Should I do this and if so, where do I put the bag of ice. Is it just a regular bag of ice from a convenience store that leaks everywhere?

Here is the spot we did for Dallas.....again, they are after the young ricer guys, so we slanted it with more of an Urban Street Feel.
Dallas Spot
This stuff is really fun to be a part of
Supercross
And of course, then there's all out.
ProAm
MBWORLD is a massive forum so I can only leave these up for a short time....I got killed on bandwidth last month.
Enjoy
Jim
Ye Ole Monster Truck Guy...hey, it a living.

I just called the raceway and found out the event is a 1/8 mile track and they don't have the timers turned on until midnight. I'm willing to go, but will the 1/8 mile track tell me anything about my car? Will I be able to determine how fast the 1/4 mile time would be based on the 1/8 mile?

Wow, I had no idea.....
Not really. Just your 60 ft time. Ya can't double the 1/8 to get the 1/4.
I would skip taking the beast then.
It's the first year of this event, so they are getting it in where they could fit it being late in the season. Mostly ricer event too so no biggee.
Sorry bout that guys.....didn't mean to be misleading. I just assumed it would be a quarter mile.....yikes.

Well, I did it today finally. I raced the beast. Here's the stats from my best 1/8 mile run:
temp: 94
humidity: 58%
R/T: .125
60' : 1.899
330: 5.329
MPH: 66.79
1/8: 8.157
MPH: 85.62
I didn't have any drag radials (just used my PS2's) and the track was absolutely terrible (at least that what everyone, including the officials said, plus I had massive spinout).
I used ESP on (when I remembered to turn it back on after my burnouts
doh!).
Obviously I need to work on my 60' time and focus on getting it below 1.75. Is that partially a function of the track prep, or is it 100% my newbie skills at work? Also, I used some on-line 1/8->1/4 mile conversion calculators which said that I might (realizing they are just a guestimate) get a 12.789 in the 1/4 mile. I feel like that is extremely slow. Would this be largely because of my lack of drag skills, or the track prep, or the temp, or all the above?
I appreciate everyone's input.
Cheers,
Darren
