Ecu Mod
who can alter my rev limiter to allow a stock E55 to reach its' top end potential. What's the price and how long would I have to wait to get ECU back? P.S. can the ECU be removed and replaced by those of us on this forum?

I drive a E55T, SLK55 and 65 Mustang Conv.
Just watched the vid again ....noticed you had nearly a full tank of gas. Shouldn't you had run with low fuel to get less weight? Or maybe you wanted the weight for handling purposes? Wolf cross posting as L.Wolf

Awsome Run!!!!!!
Boy you sure know how to keep us on the edge of our seats. I got worn out just watching it. My concentration on the speedometer got stronger as the speed went up, as I am sure yours did and you also had to watch the road and hold the camera. I had to watch it twice and I am still having a hard time wrapping my mind around what it must have been like actually doing that. Glad to hear about this, and one question, how did you prep the car for this run? You my man are a true RACER!!!! May the RACING GODS keep you safe! - Bob

Thanks folks, much appreciation. I was on the way home from drag racing in Valdosta, GA. I had a full tank of gas cause I had run it low to race with less weight and then had to fill up on the way home. It was a spontaneous run but I doubt 60 lbs would make too much of a difference.
I did get a bit scary starting at 170 cause a seemingly level road ain't all that level at that speed. It was not level enough to do what I did let alone to have a camcorder in one hand. It needs to be done on an airstrip or a good interstate.
Tires are Michelin PS2's.

What I would like to know is how that road got closed in the first place considering you had oncoming traffic in the opposite devided lanes. Isn't it normal practise to close both in cases like this?

Here's a video clip of the car at somewhere around (I'm guessing from memory) 140-150mph.
140-150 mph driveby

Man, that is amazing. I sure hope that nobody else attempts a top speed run on a public road. Recent fatal events over at 6speed make me want to encourage everybody to be as safe as they can while enjoying their cars. Not trying to preach, its just that the slightest complication over 120 MPH can take a life in an instant.

Keep the video's coming, but I too have to agree.. just listing to that car accelerate to about 100 is good enough for me... off the line races are fine, but don't worry about taking it to 190 for us again! You should see about taking that car to Germany where the roads are second to none.
