I do believe your story, HOWEVER, it's clear that either one, he was just toying with you, or two, he was a lousy driver. If I am not mistaken a Carrera GT does 0-100 in around 6.9-7.0 range. Our E55 is near 9.9 Those cars do over 200 mph easy. I have had the chance to ride in one, and it was by far the fastest car I have rode in. I have a 2005 E55. Sounds like it was fun though, and your right that sound is very intoxicating!
There is a video out there of a 1999 Cobra trying to keep up with 2 Carrera Gt's on highway, and they totally disappear from the Cobra's camera view.

Pulling 5 carlengths from 2nd gear to 90mph is quite alot, considering its only about 4 seconds of racing. The cobras racing on the highway was a probably a different situtation in terms of the the speeds involved.

Toothdoc... very generous of you to believe me If you research my posts, you'll see I'm not some troll or young kid but a credible poster. After reading the responses to my post in the Kill Stories forum, I think it was a combination of two things... a lousy driver and a relatively short run. As I said, I think he missed a gear change or something early on as I suddendly approached his back end. And secondly, this was not a 0-100mph run, it was something like 30mph to 90mph and it was literally about 5 seconds (or possibly less) of racing, so 5 car lengths would probably seem about the differential in that case. Trust me, I was very surprised too when it happened, but the combo of these two factors probably accounts for it. Mind you I have no illusions... if I got on the track with this thing, or on a highway like the cobra run you talked about (where they probably ended up doing 150+ to make cars disappear from the camera), then there is no doubt I'd get wallopped.

We're cool... Those sounds are incredible, but I think like a lot of things you either love or hate that v10 sound. Have you ever been to a Formula 1 Grand Prix with 20 F1 cars with V10 engines screaming at 18,000rpm going around a corner in procession! That is incredible stuff...
