do the hoods get the under hood skeleton? and im only in if venting is done, whatever design is chosen. for $250 a local shop can cut those vents in my reg hood with his water jet with little or no paint distortion.

I am not sure which MB tuner has the vents on their hood, but I know I have seen it somewhere. It was shown on a black car and I remember thinking it was pretty subtle... I will see if I can track down that pic.
BTW, I will only buy this CF hood if it can be painted so I can match the colour of my car. I know that depending on the finish of the CF product some can accept paint and some cannot.

How difficult would it be to cut out vents like the ones I showed above? The only real concern for me would be water, but I figure I could make some plates to carry with me and install them when it rains, unless there was a way to keep water out.

I posted some pics of the CLK K8 in the w209 forum thread - I can also post similar pics of the EV12 which has a similar hood later tonight

I will have an answer on the hood with vents tomorrow. I just don't want everyone thinking I can do the vents as of now since I never even considered them. Everyone is wanting these vents I just don't want anyone disappointed tomorrow if we can't.

I really hope this goes through. It's like killing 4 birds with one stone.
1. It would look awesome having vents. I really like the look of it.
2. It would also allow cooling
3. Lastly it would also reduce weight in our front end (unsprung weight) especially considering how heavy our front end is.
4. No many owners would have CF Vented Hood (we would be unique)
Couple this with light wheels/evo rotors/lowered = pretty sweet if you ask me

There are a few things that can stop this.
If my CF guy knows its not going to be an easy job and it would not come out perfect cutting on CF.
The mold will need to be changed since we are not using just a stock OEM hood.
Changes to the mold if even possible will require more time and possibly more money and it may just not be cost effective anymore.
But we will see tomorrow. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
