Lug bolts and aftermarket wheels

Are most of you with aftermarket wheels using the stock lug bolts, or something else (and if so what)?

A guy at Iforged told me my stock lug bolts were too long and I needed some new ones, so I got a wheel installation kit from a local tire store (new studs that screw into the hub that are threaded on both ends, and spline-drive lug nuts that screw onto them). But the studs were too short and barely made it through the wheels, so I had to take them back. Then I started looking at the stockers and both sets of wheels, and they appeared to stick out of the back of the hub of the new wheels a little less than the stock wheels, which made me think he was wrong about them being too long. So I mounted the wheels using the stock lug bolts, and so far they seem to be doing fine.

I got chrome lugs from CCW with my new wheels.. A little longer than stock but I like that since it will thread in further.

Thanks. I may give John a call as I would prefer chrome ones too.

Be careful about how much too long they are. In the rear, if the lug bolt is too long it can hit the emergency brake mechanism.

Be sure they are not too short-you could lose a wheel. They should thread into the hub at least 6 turns.
