I had 3rd best time(2:59 Lap)2nd was at 2:58 and 1st at 2:569.
The coveted prize,IWC Schaffhausen AMG made of Titanium and valued at $7,700.00 was awarded for the best time on Advanced Line Course.
It consisted of a roughly 0.5 mile ,rapidly changing elevations,fairly quick course,using SL55s only.
On the same course the Passing excersizes were later conducted,so it was much wider and faster then regular Autocross.
Best time was by Tommy Kendall in the SLR at 28.57 sec,the watch winning time by yours truly,was at 30.86 sec in the SL55.
Other interesting tidbit:CLS55 is too soft to compete with the E55 on the track(according to all the pros)that will change for the '06 model year.

and we had no SLR at our event either!
about the CLS vs. E debate... all the drivers at the even said the E was the better car and the CLS had to be pushed far harder to keep up with the E. This caught me off guard until I drove them back to back and I had to agree. In the hot lap session, my driver had a CLS for the first run and an E for the second and the E blew past the the CLS after half a lap. Cant explain it but the CLS was not as dialed in...

AMG event in Chicago - Aug 27 & 28
My brother went to the AMG Challenge event in Wisco while I had to work (lucky me), my consolation prize being a shirt that he got. But he gave me a promo piece for some one-off type event that they're doing at Autobahn down in Joliet. It's a half-day for $400, so he & I signed up as it may be the last time we get on the track before the cold comes.
