Hate to bring it up again, but C5 ZO6....how fast vs beast??

Was in the family SUV boat today and Z06 pulled up next to me.....course wife was chatting away and I drifted off into "wonder what really would happen vs the Beast".....

Really nice Z with deep bellow to it. Looked stock but who the heck knows.

Let's say stock.....how does the Z06 stack up against the Beast or a Klee 2 Beast.

Obviously C6 Z is a different story from recent post, but just was curious bout the older ones.

That's really a loaded question.. Those corvettes are real tricky to get going from a dig (especially on the street). If you are running on the highway and he is modded, it could go either way based on what he is packing.

My opinion is that from a stop, regardless of the mods on the Z06, I would put favour towards the E55. We just hit the gas and let the computer figure out the rest. With the Z06, the more power he is packing, the trickier it is to get it going. If he isn't a good driver, there is no hope for him.. Once you get the jump he wont catch you no matter what he's got.

On the highway, a stock Z06 is pretty quick, but I out-pulled one at highway speeds. Heck, I out-pulled a 996 turbo on the highway too..

Your Stage 2 Kleemann would leave him stranded based on your power output.. If you find one that is supercharged, and now, even TT'd, then I'd say you will be in trouble. I've seen TT'd Z06 putting down 700+ to the wheels and they move like hell on the highway.. Don't run into one of those bad boys or he will leave you with your tail between your legs.

That's the thing with those Z06s... They are easy to mod.. Slap $5000 on the table and you have yourself a Magnuson supercharger and 5 - 7 psi boost.. They put down 470 - 490 at the wheels with just the magnuson..

Yes, even the C5 Z06's are no joke. Plus, unlike the E55, modified examples are common.

I agree with the what has been posted so far.

I have a C5 Z06 and an E55. I think that in a street race, the E has the advantage against a stock C5 Z06. Mods are cheap/easy on the Z, though. My car traps 130mph with a Vortech blower (550rwhp @ 6psi on stock bottom end) and some headers on it. I still have the stock catback and with no blower whine, it looks/sounds stock. The windows are tinted dark so you can't see the rollbar inside the car
