Heard via grape vine that the performance package going into the SL55 has a modified cooling system - perhaps this development can be incorporated into the E55....and saving a ton of time in developing our own cooling "fix"??

No way to know for sure until we get details on what exactly they are doing to improve the cooling.
For now, there are quite a few things you can do to combat the heat issues. Search through the message board. I'm sure you'll find a few interesting threads.

It's already been discussed. It's not gonna happen on the E55.
Personally, I'd love to see a (tasteful) larger bumper which would allow us to add a larger heat exchanger or an FMIC, if we could ever figure out how to plumb one in there.
