Snorkel Mod Revisited

I was wondering how many folks here did the snorkel mod, only to later remove it and reinstall the original tube. I never noticed a difference either way.

Still have it and I'm not gonna put the original tube back. It's going to be really hard (or maybe impossible) to tell a difference in power with that mod anyway. I just know that the flow of air is improved with the mod and go from there.

Ditto here on that. Mine was way off at the radiator connect part and after a few runs at the track, I popped my hood to discover it had come completely off at that part and was sucking hot engine air.....sure killed my intake temps and bet thus slowed my time at the track. Guess I could have wrapped it etc...but just too much time for such small increase....if it even does increase. Never has been a before and after dyno.

Just 2 cents....

If you do this and just do a "direct swap" it will not fit properly and you will suck in lots of hot air. Spero and I did this on the same day and the installer "fabricated" the snorkel in a way that it is VERY tight. I'm skeptical if it's doing a whole hell of a lot, but I don't think it's hurting anything either.

I really wonder what he did to make er fit.....the S Snorkel is literally a triangular/oval shape, while the E is a straight oval.

It's pretty far off.....that's really interesting.

Must have cut something or wrapped it in heat tape or something.

Heated it until you had formed the right shape. Tube fits tighter then the stock one
