2003 E55 Techtite over Blue Leather.
Leather Conditioning
The leather door panels in my 2003 E55 are losing their "gathers" and starting to look very tight and flat. Can that be rectified with conditioning? Also: The dark blue color of the seat inserts and door panels is barley noticable. Was this the case on the 03's only? Do I have a case with Mercedes under warranty? After all, if I have a 2 tone interior, shouldn't it look 2 tone?

I think Derek uses a nice leather care product... Derek, time to enlighten us again!

I think MB officially tells you to use nothing on the leather. It is an unprotected Nubuck leather. Since I can't "Not use anything" in my dry climate, I asked an expert who suggested Lexol conditioner. But don't use the cleaner. He cautioned that it might create a little shine in the leather - this leather is usually flat.
I used it and it works fine. The slight shine lasts for a few days and goes away. I plan to use it a few times a year to keep the leather from drying. I doubt it will restore color though.

Out Of Control!!
Mine is a 2005 with 4k miles and 2 tone interior (blue) and it is not very noticeable either. It has not been in the sun, except for when I have been driving it. I have used Zaino one time. Sometimes, I feel that the merlot would have been a better choice. Let me know if anyone discusses this with MB and they offer a new car or something.

I was surprised when, after seeing the great photos in the brochures and on the web site of the blue/black e55 interior, how dull the blue is in actuality on a live car. It's almost a misrepresentation, how they played with the color levels on the photographs to make the blue look really rich (like the two-tone blue on the 2001-2004 slk's), since the blue in the e55 actually looks more like denim-color than *BLUE* blue. i've seen and test driven many examples in which this was the case, so I'd be surprised if MBUSA considers it a warranty issue. but it might be worth a try anyway, if you find yourself in for service or already at the dealer for another reason.
