Curb weight of 211 AMG

Everyone on this forum quotes the weight of our cars as 4200+ lbs in most of the post that I have seen.
MBusa quotes 4087.

Is this correct or are people finding higher weights on scales?

Most average E55 owners weigh about 400lbs.

I've read as heavy as 4400lbs.. and as light as 4087... but then the CDI is quoted by MBUSA as 3835, yet a few mags weighed it at 4002lbs.. so MB must always under weight their cars or something.

Only in "Supersize-me" America....

I will fill up my car, put my 210lb *** in and get on a public weigh bridge. Then I will subtract my weight and get the curb/kerb weight. Watch this space.

Officially kerb weight is: empty car + full tank. NO driver, passengers or luggage.

I have seen some European standards in the past stating kerb weight as 90% full tank + 75kg/165lb driver, so it can be confusing.

I'm sure the weight depends on options.

Thanks, this is the info that I am looking for.
I realize MF curb weight does not include gas or drive, I am just looking for a starting point

I'll tell you something interesting about the weight of a W211.. IT's the EXACT same size as a Honda Accord, or Toyota Camry but weighs as much as 800lbs more in AMG trim.. Yup, same size..

It cost 8-10 times the price (in Australia)...............so the extra weight must be in gold bullion.
Now if only I could find that 800lbs of gold.

I would not be seen in a Toyota Camry without a paper bag over my head, no matter how little it weighs...LOL. It is a home appliance on wheels not a car, especially in white!

Understand, my intention is saying it's that light is to make the point that it's not "as much car" not that it's some how superior

Keep in mind, the Toyota is all steel bodypanels, and the W211 is more than 50% aluminum too..

how much does a 211 amg weigh?

My guess is that MB uses third party freight carriers for all their cars and in order to get the lowest shipping rates possible they may fudge just a bit on the published weight.

How did you work that out? 80 liters of gas at the specific gravity of 0.7 g /ml weighs only 56 kg/123 lbs.
Also, did his car weight include the 210lb driver or was that additional?

I assumed 4365 - 210 - 120 (gas)
With the way it was worded it seemed he had included his weight.

Specific gravity of what? Why .7? Shouldn't it be at 9.81?

Specific Gravity is the relative density of a substance to water.
We know that water has a density of 1 g/ml,
1 kg/litre, 1000 kg/cu.m, 1 tonne/cu.m or 62.4 lb/cu.ft
Therefore .7x1k= .7 kg/litre

Aircraft fuel weighs 6 pounds per gallon so I'm guessing 93 octane automobile fuel is almost identical.

Specific gravity, not GRAVITATIONAL acceleration of 9.81m/sec/sec as in G-force!
Specific gravity is the weight of 1 cubic cm = 1 ml as compared to water.
Water is 1g/ml
Gasoline is 0.7 g/ml.
Therefore 80liters of water weighs 80kg but 80 liters of gasoline weighs only 80 x 0.7 = 56kg.
Come on Ricky...!
