So much for quality.......
I don't get it......it's the third set of rear shocks that I have gone through in my car in the little span of 3000km....
The problem that I have with my car is that I keep on getting these knocking sound emitting from the rear shocks (not squeaking sound, but light knocking sound which sounds very hollow/loose). The technician have confirmed for the third time that the shocks were bad.....but all 3 sets of them defective?
Nobody knows why I have this problem on my car and the head technician from Mercedes thinks it's because I have aftermarket rims (BBS LM2 with different offset than stock), but I told him that this was BS because I had the same problem with the original tires/wheels (when I replaced my first set of shocks).
Can anybody please shed a light on this?

Whats Wrong With The Shocks?
neosky - It is possible, but remote, that in Taiwan, where you are, that the local MB Parts Warehouse ended up with a run of defective Air Shocks for the E55. Do they have any idea what is actually failing in the shock, or are they still in the parts changing mode? Keep us posted on what happens.

That's what the Technician is thinking, that the three sets of shocks that I had on my car were all defective from the same run. They are ordering a new set from Germany, hopefully I will get a good set this time around!

They don't know what's exactly causing the shocks to be defective except when they put it on and let me drive it for a couple hundred kilometers, the problem appears and the noises come back. When they put a new set of shocks on, the noises are gone. The chief technician from HQ thinks it's because of my wheels due to thinner tirewalls, but I had the same problem with the stock wheels/tires. My dealer thinks the chief Tech is just trying to cover their part in terms of warranty....
