key remote waterproof ?
was wondering whether the key remote was waterproof, i ask this because i accidently left my remote in my pants pocket when i washed a load of my clothes. when i realized what i had done it was too late.i was convinced it was toast but i tried to use it anyway,somehow it still worked . maybe i was lucky but i always use the extra rinse cycle, so it was submerged twice.just curious if anyone knew.

it's been three weeks and it's still workin fine, with most remotes when wet the second you press any button,that's when you destroy it i figured it was toast so i immediately pressed the unlock buton and it worked.

There is a rubber seal that closes the battery and Siemens chip from the outside environments, so yes its water reistant to a certain extent. I washed my TL keys and ended buying new keys lol. I guess Mercedes has thought of something simple like washing keys too. :p
