Amen that car is butt Ugly. Ask BMW if it comes with a paper bag to where over ones head while driving it, cause I wouldn't want to be seen in it :p

2005 Brilliant Silver E55
I'm scheduled to get my M5 early Nov. After break in Spero and I will more than likely go to the track. I'm probably going to mod the car with Hartge Exhaust and ECU.
I was surprised that my M5 will sticker at $96K, I always thought the M5s were about $5K less than E55.
Drove the Gallardo and that ***** is FAST!!! Man if the M5 can keep up, at triple digits the M5 should fly.
We'll know results in Nov
Damn I'm tired of waiting...almost bought a CLS55 but decided to be a bit more patient.

I had already paid for my car since 2 weeks ago.
And has been sitting in front of my laptop to track every the ship on daily basis.
I am just so excited that my car is now actually in a US port. I still don't believe the CARB certification crap.
This has to be coordinated release of some sort. The fact is that the 1st batch of 24 West Coast M5 just hit Port of San Diego this morning at 6:32. And still has not left port of San Diego as of now (schedule to leave at 4:00PM). And 24 car for west coast means a lot of dealer will not have a M5 for at least one more week (next ship is docking on the 21th).
I will be suprised if BMWNA remove the hold on the M5 next week.

I have read that the launch rpm will be a few 100 rpms lower than the Euro, if so it should not do much damage.
I am not sure I belive it, my guess is that you get the same spec as we do in Europe....
When I tested the LC start on the Euro M5 it took off at app 4400 rpms. It was an interessting experience to say the least.....

Small variation could be expected but so far the M5 have not lost.

Congrats Derek and nice to know the long wait is finaly comming to an end.
But please do not drive straight to the track, BMW M models need a careful break-in...
Full power does not come until close to 8-10000 km. At least that is what I have experienced my selves, and what other have posted....
What colour have you choosen....

Derek, when it comes in, you'll have to bring it out to one of the meets. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to wait until the UFC event and I don't want to have to drive all the way out to your place in East Guam just to see a car.

I guess not having driven the 55K in so many months now, even the mighty Gallardo felt THAT fast.
This crazy nut had a 360 Spyder for 2 weeks and sold it cuz his wife's 911 kept "eating his lunch" at just about every speed. His SL65 should arrive shortly with the Renntech treatment and wonder how long that's gonna last.
He's getting the Spyder Gallardo and offered his Gallardo to me but I would honestly pass on it because that car is more uncomfortable than a Ferrari.
