It is possible. Kleemann in Colorado was going to do this exact same swap with a C320 4-matic. They put the project on the back burner becasue they've been so busy. The only hiccup they ran into had to do with the ECU. The price of the swap was much lower than everyone posting thinks. Send Kleemann an E-Mail and maybe they'll give you some guidance. Good luck!

Yes, it did but it was a pretty big project. Took us three nights in the workshop. But the result was well worth it. I still daily drive this car. 386K miles on the original engine and trans! Still going strong!

It can be done, but there’s a reason that the c55 front end is different, it needs to be longer for the V8, then there is the differential and brakes and fuel pump, as well as coding and many other things. I figured it would run about $9000 to put one in a c55 and probably $14,000 in a c230 if I did the work myself, and that’s probably on the low end.
