Okay, buying some HRE's and need advice...

Okay, here I go. I am about to buy a set of 19's from HRE and I am debating between the 540R and a couple others. I know whatever I get that I want them to be the widest possible wheels I can get on there with the widest tires I can possibly get on. Keeping that in mind, they will have a polished lip with high gloss finish black centers. I also want a decent (2'' inch) lip on the front with a FAT lip on the back .

Any help or advice you have for me will be greatly appreciated.

FWIW- MY car is lowered by using the washers up front and by drilling that thing in the rear (previous owner did it) in case that presents a problem with fitment. Picture included:

Do this...

1. Get the HRE 540R's 19x9F and 19x10R's. Contact either Neal at www.euroteckmotorsports.com OR Peter at www.wheelexperts.com

2. Get Kleemann lowering module. Should do the trick.

3. Post pics!

Okay,

1. How do I go about getting car back to stock height.

Once that's achieved:

2. How much is the Kleemann Lowering Module?

4 wheels
Lower it thorugh Star Diagnostics. Its reversible within a matter of a few seconds. Not to mention a boat load cheaper than going through Kleemann or some other Lowering Module.

I would not daily drive an E55 on 20s. The ride is terrible.

Go through the forum, there are a number of guys who went with 20s and wound up selling them for 19s.

I agree, go with the 19's. Get the "R" design which have a straight instead of a stepped lip. I just ordered a set of 19" 547Rs from Ben @ Wheels Boutique in South Florida:

http://www.wheelsboutique.com/

His phone # is: 866-519-4335 (x-2101). They are one of the largest suppliers of HRE wheels, and Guy at HRE (760-598-1960, x-205) directed me to Ben. They do E55's all the time. He recommended the following sizes for my lowered E55: 245 (19 x 8.5) in the front, and 285 (19 x 10) in the rear. The front will have a 1.5" lip, and the rear lip will be 3.5". You probably will have a hard time getting a 2" lip on the front without rubbing. They are coming with PS2's and he promised me I'd have them in 4 weeks. I got a good price on them (compared to the posted prices on the HRE website). I would definitely speak to Ben before you decide where to get your wheels - he knows his stuff (he's had an E55 w/ HRE's himself in the past, and I think just got rid of a sick looking SL 55 that you can see in this link):

Best of luck to you!

I had a 20x9 in the front and 20x10 in the rear and had no problems with rubbing. But like Marcus said, ride wasn't the best. I'd personally go with Peter @ Wheel Experts and go with a 19x9 and a 19x10 set up. IMHO that is...

I have a set of 542R's @ 19 inches. Not a problem at all! I don't know how your streets are there, but in Chicago 19 inches keeps enough meat between me and the potholes! I purchased my set from Marcus @ Garage Dynamics. BTW.....Marcus where are my GFG'S?
