W211 E55 Stock HP ?

New E55 owner here ... was wondering what the stock E55 HP and torque was? I know they are well under rated and could reach 500hp. Anyone had theirs dynoed or has any insight ... Thanks !

Thanks for the links ... from what I've read and understood in these posts, the stock E55 comes well under the 470 mark at which it was advertised. My service advisor who seemed very insightful in this area was contradictive to the postings on these threads and said that the 2005 was well under rated in horsepower/torque and that in actuality it would reach closer to 500hp. so what's the deal on the 2005 E55 in laymans terms ?

I think he might be talking about flywheel/crank numbers.
Take that number and multiply it by around .8 and you'll get your rwhp which is what most of those dynos I liked you to show.

Or vice verse. Take the numbers above, and divide by .8 to get your crank numbers which I believe are the numbers MBUSA advertises.

I've heard it time and time again that it's some slick marketing move by MBUSA... they UNDER RATE the E55's HP so people w/ the SL55 and CL55 will THINK that they're getting more for their money. Of course they could lose some sales to Audi and BMW in the process and get sued for misrepresenting the HP (as insurance companies partially base their rates on cars reported HP)... but of course they do it anyway.

469HP... maybe less I'm thinking.

This is an ongoing debate. People have their own opinions but it comes down to what the cars dyno. The dyno graphs I have seen and that are on this board show the E55 to be underrated. They are making at least the 493HP that is advertised on their more costly bretheren. This and the fact that they still quote the E55/CLS55 with the same 516Lb-Ft as the others all but confirms that they are all making similair power. Why MB underrates the E55 and CLS55 is anyones guess, but the fact is they do.
