It would probably be cheaper to buy a E with this, cut the pano roof out (there glued in like a windshield) and part the rest of the car out. It would not surprise me if the solar pano roof assy is around $10k. Not worth the $ or hassle. Only other thought would be to use the ventilation system from it with a aftermarket solar panel on the hat shelf.

I mean if he already has a pano roof he doesn't have to replace the whole roof. All he'd have to do is buy a new front wind deflector and rear trim piece (along with all the necessary solar panel stuff). But the sunroof and glass rear panel wouldn't be touched.
In regards to retrofitting pano roofs, it seems like that's the one thing that can't be retrofitted on the non convertible Benzes (at least that's what I seem to have gathered from the guru retrofitters here).

Just checked epc and the solar panel is available seperatly. Suprising as most pano roof glass sections (aside from the sliding section) are only available as a complete assy. The pn 211 780 00 44. I'm sure it's still not cheap though

Wow I didn't even know there was this option!
I can call my sister in Northern California to check for you guys to see if they can replace the PANO roof for you guys. She has an Auto Glass shop, and they know Mercedes and many others. Shouldn't be too big of a problem, like someone said, I think it is installed like a windshield.

I have it on my car and love it. A great feature that makes your car stand out from other E55's. I wonder how many cars were actually produced with this feature?

I bought a front section off a guy a while back for very little, just to see if one could retro, have not got around to doing it though. The rear panel would be a lot more work to replace, but the front flip up would be easy, two wires come off it, but that is as far as I have got.

I know you weren't calling me a retard just joking around.
If you look at the roof in front of the opening roof and behind the fixed roof are two see through sections that contain what look like solar panels. Maybe the pano roof is one big assembly and they put all the parts in regardless of options on 300w solar panel.
I don't have the original sticker I bought the car used with 1900 miles. I do have a Net star printout that shows the options. It has the following accessory codes:
744 silver
251 char leath
219 dist
220 park
317 comf
319 light
413 pano
475 tpms
530 dvd nav
819 6cd
881 trunk closer
889 keyless
Total sticker was 94,080 and I added satellite radio.
Any thoughts on how to get them working???

Solar panel
Never said or implied that you were a retard, but we all were informed that 2004 was the last year. To be clear the panels are not seen through the sunroof glass, they are before the front sunroof and behind the rear roof. Very odd if you have them and they dont work. Do you have your window sticker by chance?
