Its easily doable even in bay area.

Also, i think there are a few new 05 still in stock at bay area dealers.

I think i saw two at fletcher jones (aka Claridge) on monday. Not sure if my sales from beshoff is still with fletcher jones. I can ask for you.

It's also extremely smooth and comfortable.
Can you upgrade the suspension or is the handling the best it's going to get for that chasis and engine weight?

In regards to the decision, I think power is a huge factor because once you've had a fix of it, you don't want anything less. It's an addiction. So, I'd choose the E55.

E55K
How can you even compare 650 and E55...they are in the different leagues...

You could compare E55 to M5...

ClS55 to M6

SL500 to 650!!!

E55 is much better car overall...+ more POWER...

GET CLS55 AMG...

You won't get $8K off MSRP in the Bay Area. Demand is still strong and availability is somewhat limited. I ended up going with a color I wasn't too crazy about because Smythe had it in stock and got mine for $2000 over invoice. I shopped Autobahn, Beshoff and Claridges as well. Beshoff would have met that price but wouldn't beat it.

Not to flame you but didn't you state here that you got it for $1500 over invoice? Link

Yep. I did actually get it for $1500 over and I forgot that I mentioned it before. I didn't want him to expect the exact same deal I got if he called my sales guy.

Oh, by the way - now it's for sale on the classifieds for $81K.

So Cal prices are lower. Find the car you want and then deal. Don't save a grand or 2 and end up compromising on options, etc. You're gonna spend nearly 100K out the door anyway, so keep that in mind. Get the car the way you want it. I LOVE all the electronics and color. Trust me, there are very few cars that give you that grin by just getting in and turning it on. Stock mufflers and all, it just rushes right through me EVERY time. No 650 will come close. Also, hurry and do it by end of month / quarter / year. There are dealers that need to meet their numbers to close 2005 out with a reward. They will be willing to take a hit on your deal to get their quota from MBUSA.

any difference between the 2005 e55 and the 2006 e55?Thanks alot guys.Hope to contribute to this forum!

Well i was in the same boat you are in. At first I had a deposit on a new 650i that was coming in. Once the car came in it was very nice, drove nice, not bad at all but the dealer only wanted to take 1200.00 off msrp. I went straight to MB and found an 06 E55 on the showroom floor with a sticker of 90K and some change. I talked to the sales guy and he was able to give me the car for 83K which was about 3k more then the 650i but I must say I feel the e55 is more car then the 650 and well worth 3k more. The thing that sealed the deal was not the power or the looks as I think the 650 is a much sportier looking car but the suede headliner, the keyless go, active dynamic seats, cooled seats etc.. Now thats an 80k plus car. Good luck keep me posted. One of the guys I know has a very nice set of 22inch Asanti wheels and tires for the 650 if you get it. The rear lip is 5 inch and the front is 3.5 inch. Very nice look on that car. I love the way that car looks maybe the m6 will be more for me as it has the looks and the power but it has to be one great car to out do my e55.

Drive the car in full sport suspension mode and make sure you have Michelin PS2s on the car and while it won't out manuvere a Porsche at the track, you won't have too many complaints about how fast you can take the average curves on public roads. Bottom line is that you'll probably be able to take curves on public roads at least 3+ times faster than the speed advisory signs and definitely much faster than posted speed limits! I've had an '04 E55 for a year now and incredibly happy. No major issues with the car. Had a couple of sporadic stalling incidents in hot weather, but it started right back up.
