your garages

There has been a post for our fellow community's garages before.
We plan to make our garage abit more presentable over the christmas break, the floor needs to be tiled and walls repainted, also additional lighting needed. I remember in the previous post a fellow member had tiled their garage floor and I thought it looked impressive! but I cant seem find where those pictures have gone to, I think it was a owner with a porsche as well and he had framed porsche pictures on his walls.
If someone can get hold of those pictures it would be great, also some suggestions for patterns for the floor would be greatly appreciated.

I believe you are thinking or Redlinerobert's garage, which is insane looking. Pics can be found in this old post.

My garageis much smaller, but I recently started fixing it up too. I didnt like the hard plastic tiles ( i was debating a ceramic tile though) but ended up doing an epoxy, then area mats for the cars. Dont mind the mess, I still wasn't done when the pics were taken.

Did you do the floor your self or have it done? I'm still debating the paint vs old school linoleum tile vs race deck tiles. What didn't you like about the plastic tiles?

Race Deck tiles, took a whole day to to do myself and another day to trim edges, etc. Very proud of the garage, plan on getting rid of a lot of things and putting a TV/DVD/Cable, and lots of pictures.

This is a guy named Scott M. He lives in Virginia, he used to own a supercharged 996 and a Gt3. On 6speed there is a link to the whole project.

linoleum tile, ive always been against. Just looks cheap or i dunno what it is about it. The race deck tile is like hard plastic, there is no seal between tiles, so if something spills, as far as I know, it can go under the tile. Then how do you go about cleaning it up underneath? The other thing I didn't like about it was that it is flammable! There must be a reason that I have heard multiple times that fire inspectors will make you take it out for them to pass a job, and then you can do what you please when they leave. I redid the garage because of a small fire, and I wasn't about to add something flammable to my entire floor lol. I also didn't like that it didn't have a rubberized feel. I think the armstrong tiles are more along the lines.

Dont think the epoxy is paint. I wouldnt say it acts anything like it. I had home depot do it, but they send people from rustoleum to do it (contractors or what not trained by them). They come in, sand the entire garage, fill in cracks with bondo, then do the whole process. You cant park cars on it for 10 days, but you can walk on it after a full day. If you do the clear coat, add another day for them to come back and do that and for it to dry. Now once I had these guys come, they told me they couldve done it for half the price, but then I guess there is no warranty involved, etc.

Heres a Pic of my simple 2 bay garage, which comprises

epoxied floor - 1/2 day to paint
craftsman tool boxes
1-1/2" bull nosed maple butcher block work counter
30" wide rubber cushioned work floor around work benches
6 x 4 tube floursescent fixtures
2 seperate rooms to store the crap that accummulates in a garage, whcih keeps the garage itself really clean

Gang,

I live in a townhouse with a 2 car garage it's just not enough room for my cars and bikes. Thankfully I have a 7500sq/ft. climate controlled warehouse to keep and work on the toys.
The lift really helps when I need to work on the cars. Changing oil and fluids is a snap

It is a true big block SS Camaro. It had a 396, but numbers didn't match and that old 396 never ran right. I pulled the 396 and the Turbo350 trans. I am installing for my winter project a new GM 572 crate motor, a Viper 6-speed modified for first gen. Camaro's, and a Moser 12 bolt rear. I will have it back on the road next summer. It should really fly with 620HP and 650lb/ft or torque
