Scavenging effects from the exhaust could be the answer to the reduced exhaust valve flow. Have you all opened the exhaust and cranked up the boost on one of these.
Let me re-phrase this question. Have you engineered an exhaust that will properly do this and cranked the boost?

This head might be a good candidate for extrude honing. Add to that an exhaust cam with 5-10 degrees more duration (mostly opening sooner) and exhaust flow should increase significantly.

As much as I would like to make a set of long tube headers and just bolt down Flowmasters with turn down tips - I have to make what will sell.
Most 55 owners want to keep noise down - in addition to CARB looking under the hood every two years.
I have top keep product sane as possible, which means no "Check Engine" lights, no NASCAR soundtrack and no metal banging noises when going over speed bumps.
Which means at this time I am limited to shorty headers, stock cats and stock catback.
On boost there is a bigger pulley in the works.
