For a little history start here:

http://www.qv500.com/indexmclaren.php

For some pics start here:

http://www.seriouswheels.com/cars-m.htm

The rest of it you'll find all over the internet if you look: history, pics, cars for sale, racing, street cars, reviews, etc. Discussions and links are all over the supercar sites and forums. All of the car mags (obviously) love reviewing them.

And no, I've thought about it and I am not going to post my pics...sorry

Cool pics, but I'd like to know who brutalized the silver '70 Ghibli wth pinstripes and aftermarket tail lights? One of Giugiaro's best designs and doesn't need any crappy embellishment.

Wow, never seen a McLaren in that color. Rare machines. For those that are interested, you'll be very lucky to find one for sale under $1.5 mil nowadays.

They can be had for just over a Mil. Most of the availables are ex-racecars or modified ex-racecars, meaning they're a little rough. There are street versions available as well for about $1.2M on up.
These are amazing cars, but their tech and engineering is now 10 years old. The Koenigsegg CCR didn't officially beat the F1's top speed record until, like, a year ago? Amazing how long the F1 stayed on top. Truly one of the great supercars of the modern era.... Only three-seater that I know of.

My neighbor had one until recently. His was orange. Very cool car. My neighbor now has a Pagani Zonda and a few others including an Enzo. Nice collection! And he actually drives them.

I agree, that F1 is a very special car. I love the seating configuration.

And now won't the Bugatti Veyron beat them all with a top speed of 252mph?

Oh, the race is on. We're all still awed by the Veyron -- could be the greatest and best-loved supercar of the decade (much like the F1 has been) not just because of the power, speed, handling, and braking, but also because of how tractable it is on the road, and how gorgeous the interior is. The Veyron has set a new benchmark for supercar (much like the F1 did).
The Koenigsegg CCR and the Saleen S7TT are just two of the other current super-speed supercars, and there are other cars in development or just starting to be produced and sold. This is the most incredible time for supercars that I have seen in my entire life.
Koenigsegg believes that they can top 252mph..... The Saleen S7TT may take the official speed record this year -- it has been said that they reached 260mph more than once in testing just recently!
The orange is still my favorite color on an F1. Alot of the ex-racecars are in the orange.

Good God, the F1 is my all time fav. Its now a bit slower then a couple of the newest super cars but I still love that thing. I'd love to see a 0-top speed race between the Bugatti and the Saleen S7TT. That would be sick!

His F1 had the "subtle" plates right? Why'd he sell it?

I am not sure why he sold. I heard a story that it was involved in an accident and was sent to England to be repaired. I did not hear that from the owner.

I will ask him next time I see him.

wow sellin an F1. I mean if the guy has an Enzo and Zonda then its alright lol but wow. I guess I can see what hes about though, wants the best

IMO if I had a F1 I would never sell it no matter how many problems it had. Especially if it were an original roadgoing version not a racecar or one with the addons.
