S600 VS E55 size wise....
Talked about this before, but there is this blonde driving around in it and I would just love to have her legs sticking out of the panaram.......wait a minute, wait a minute. Crap!! Was I thinking out loud again??
Anyway, it's black with incredible rims.....just has this presence when it's coming down the road. How much bigger is the S600 than the E55. I know some, but is it that much different??

I've had my w220 parked next to a w211 before. The w220 is somewhat longer, but as far as width goes, they're about the same (w220 might be a tad wider). The S600 is also weighs about 4500 lbs compared to the E55s weight of 4000 (and a little over).

to me, 10" isn't much in the way of overall length. on the other hand, isn't the wheelbase length difference the key in what makes the SL seem much larger than the E? i'd think that difference could make a huge impact on overall feel/manoeuverability (yes, i don't know how to spell), regardless of overall length.
i've gotta say, everytime i see one of the later s55's or last year's AMG-body-equipped s sedans, i'm struck by how handsome they are. but after having owned a cadillac DTS full-sizer, i know the limitations to "fun in-city driving" that such a large car imposes on the driver. if you're a freeway/open-road frequenter, though, it's probably about as nice as it gets, esp. for the dough.

To me, the biggest advantage of the S600/S55 over the E55 is Active Body Control (ABC), which virtually eliminates body roll and can make the big boy more tossable than it's little brother. It's a major improvement over the DC Airmatic.
That said, I'm personally more comfortable in the cabin of W211. I spent over a month behind the wheel of an '05 S500 and while it's no S55, the cavernous interior space made me feel less connected with the car than I am in my E55.
While I like the convenience of four doors, I rarely carry rear seat passengers and I feel more comfortable with the intimacy of the smaller cabin.
Regardless, the S600 (w/Kleemann upgrades) makes great sense to me.

I really want a C55. I liked everything about the new C230 except the powertrain. Felt like I had a 8 hp go kart motor up front. :p

Have you all seen "Ice Harvest"?
The discussion on the size of the S600 reminds me of V.I.C. (Billy Bob's character) stating - "Yer right Charlie, that Mercedes is surprisingly spacious. That trunk would have never fit in the Lincoln."
