My service indicator says A service in 9 odd thousand miles. Car is brand new and has 62 miles currently - surely there is a oil change at 1000 miles or so ?

I changed my oil at 1000 miles...dealer asked "are you sure". I said just FN do it. I am paying
More than a few people on this board don't like to think about all that ugly break in debris floating around in a 35k engine for 10000 miles.

I too did the 1000 mi. oil change at the freebie service inspection. They "recommended against it" but I told them I'd either be paying the dealer or some independent shop; do they want the money or not?!!! Of course, with logic like that, they couldn't refuse. At least the salesguy I had dealt with understood the reasoning - he had done the same for all of his cars.

Now, with under 2k on the odo, I've been getting a "Service C in 2x days" notification everytime I fire up the ignition. I thought there was no service required until 10k miles or so? And I thought there were only A and B services... what's going on here?!!!
