a few...
SGC,
You have a BEAST!
Skeeter,
It probably just matters on what kind of relationship you have with the dealership/Service Manager. My guess though ---> they probably wouldn't warranty it, but remember... they only can deny warranty if it is the part that is modified that is having the problem, which RennTech will do for you.
As for the whole M5 thing... Well, I have heard of the averages trapping 118, TopGun, I think you shot a little high. I think where the M5 shines is up top, from a higher roll... even though that sounds ridiculous.
JJIII55,
To each their own. The M5 might be slower, but not by much. Yes, the E55 will beat it every time, but the M5 is so much different as far as driving dynamics, it's kind of an overused excuse the whole "if I wanted to spend 90k on a canyon running car, it wouldn't be on a luxury sedan". I mean, it might be slower but it's still an M5! Both of these cars demand respect on the road, they are the pinnacles of automotive performance.
So, the M5 has better handling, the E55 better acceleration, but guess what... in each category that both sedans win, the other isn't that far behind.

2005 E55, Renntech Pulley, ECU
merc655,
Thanks for the reply! So RennTech offers a powertrain warranty when you buy the pulley/ECU upgrade? That's cool! Seems like no risk then...
I'm gonna start saving! I'll put aside $1k per month and in a half-year I'll be ready to rock. Just too tempting to pass up...
THanks Merc!

But what impact on warranty? I'm guessing going back to stock setup wouldn't be that complex if something were to break... Is that the tactic? Will the dealer even see the change? Will they deny service if they notice? If experience with other brands is any indicator, the answer is 'yes' the dealer will spot it, and yes, they'll deny coverage unless they are really cool, which isn't the case very often.
Is Mercedes nicer to AMG owners? Will they commonly overlook a little pulley/ecm swap?
Thanks,
Skeeter

Been to the dealer after the mods. I didn't mention anything, and there was no problem.
