Everyones experience with the PS2 ?

Well Ive had my PS2's now for about 8000 miles...and guess what. My rears are almost bald! I have not tracked the car, I have never smoked the tires or done anything to abuse them, but to get only 8000 miles out of them??? If it was gonna be that bad, I wouldve jsut gotten the S03's that are at least NOTORIOUS for being a soft tire and wear fast...but expected another 2000 miles out of these PS2s.

How has everyone else been doing on tread life on them? And yes, they were the XL rated ones.

Maybe that is why their traction characteristics are so good. There is usually a cost to every benefit.

My stock contis only lasted 11,000 miles with some hard driving and 1 track day and 4 runs down the strip.

I had PS2's on my C32, they really are one the best tires out right now... and will put them on the E55 as soon as these conti's wear some more....

BTW, I replaced the rear tires on the C32 every 8k miles....

I have alot of cars, and alot of different tires on them. I put the PS2's on every car that I can fit them on. I do not believe that their rate of wear is any worse than any of the other makes -- and actually may be better than some of the others....

i gotta agree w/ clayj, for the traction they provide the wear is very good.
i change mine (all 4 everytime b/c the front outside shoulders wear fast b/c of hard driving) every 6k mi.

have u ever tried the old school pzero assimetrico and directionale tires by pirelli?
last about 4k mi.

The Pirellis are a perfect example of tires that wear more quickly for me than the PS2's -

To be honest, the traction was certainly better than the conti,s but still not that great for them to wear out this fast. Like i said in the initial post, if they wear this quick, then I think the S03s would be a better choice, since wear is the biggest knock on those.
I am certainly ready to switch them out every 8k miles, but I expected better traction if I do so.

My Contis only lasted 8000 miles. Drove them hard. Only 4 runs down the 1/4 mile. Swithed to PS2's - huge difference in traction and noise level. Overall much happier with the PS2's, but sold the car with the new tires after less than 1000 miles to get the CLS, so I have no idea how long they would last with the way I drive.
