Rev Limiter

I don't know if my car is set up different or what but, I can't hit the limiter. Not that I want to. When I put my car in manual to do a burnout, I can't hold it in low gear. It spins and shifts up into second gear right away. I have it in M mode and it still does it. Any ideas what could be going on or if we have a set up that I haven't done?

The 2003 & early 2004 cars automatically upshift to the next gear even when in M mode. The mid 2004 and newer cars hold the gears in M mode.

My car does go over 6,000RPM before it shifts, but, I guess the shift point would depend on what your ECU was programmed for as the soft limiter point. My car's rev limiter was programmed as 6,500RPM I believe. You should check with Kleemann and see what they set the rev limit to.

I know! I can't get enuff. I'm envious of that burnout you did at Capitol last month. When are we going to pick up some wine? I will probably go up there next weeek after we move into the new house. I need a couple of cases of wine. We've been going through a few bottles these days.

You need to go with me up to Laurel. I have a guy up there that will get you almost anything you want for almost cost. We're in the process of building a small cellar at our new house. How was the party?

The party is this Saturday, the 28th.

The cellar we had built will hold about 800 bottles. I used a ChillR unit for cooling. You just need a sealed room and the ChillR units can be mounted above the door. Nothing huge, but it will hold plenty of wine for us I'll PM you about Laurel

How's the new place?

oohh.. Wine... Another one of my passions..

Here is part of my wine cellar at home.. All custom racking... I bottle my own and also purchase certain select vintages.

This was taken shortly after the installation was complete.. 600 bottle capacity on all the racks combined.

Awesome cellar, Victor! Mine is definately storage oriented, it's nowhere near as nice as what you've got going there.

Thanks! It's still a work in progress.. I am putting up some mirrors and doing a mural on the main wall (I just dont know what will be painted yet..) It's temp controlled and humidity controlled so it is a perfect environment for wine storage.

My question was answered earlier so no big deal. Nice cellar Victor. I have two closets that I'm converting to a cellar. Nothing as nice as what you have. Beautiful cellar.

All the bottles look flat. Corks gonna go dry. Or do you have the cellar at a set humidity?

Thanks everyone for the compliments!

The bottles are slightly tilted downward. The corks are wet. Temp is controlled at 15C and humidity at 65%.

Is this true..That the mid 2004 and newer cars hold the gears in M mode. My 2005 E55 used to hold its gears in M mode, however ever since I got my Renntech upgrade, I think it will automatically shift from 1st gear to 2nd gear when red -lined..Could it be possible that Renntech ECU removed the rev limiter....
