W211 owners!!! Would you make this trade?
Every time I see a CLS55, my heart pounds and I say to myself, "I need this car." Now don't get me wrong, I love my E55 especially since it was Kleemannized but if I was offered an even trade for my car, I'm pretty sure I would jump at the deal.
So my question is: If you could trade your E55 for a CLS55 without any significant financial penalty, Would you do it?

One other note. When I was at the dealership yesterday looking for an additional car, I ran into this. After I figure out how to dump the wife and kids, it will be all mine.

E55 - Daily Driver
I hear you brother.....I thought the same until I actually rode in one with 4 full size adults. Just not very good for the back-seaters (opinions will vary, this is just two of them....from the two back seaters).
So if you often carry a full load, and need to impress people.....(i.e. for work), I would stay with the E55. I did, and have no regrets in keeping my E55. It is a great looking car....and only the CLS would I consider 'better looking'
If true 'useability' has abosolutely no issue, then I too would be tempted to make the trade. :v
Just my opinion, and that of my back seat friends ! Whatever you decide, keeping or trading, truly, both are a win win. Life is short....so make a decision and execute!
And of course, enjoy the ride in a 55...

I like the E better, I like the front of the CLS but the rest of the car doesn't do it for me. I also prefer the E interior hands down.

The CLS is THEE most stunning 4 door sedans on the road. If you have ever seen one come through traffic, it is just jaw dropping...........still love me E though. Just a personal thing.....love my baby, been through too much.
Heh heh, til twin turb V8 comes....then SHE'S TOAST!!!

I hear ya on the back seat thing. I was in this week to get Sat radio installed and sat in the back of it. I am about 6'1" and my head was hitting the top. For me it really wouldnt matter on the back seat room because i dont carry anyone most times. But the CLS is a Stunning car IMO. If it were me I would do it in a heartbeat if there was no significant financial penalty

Keep the E.
It seats four, not five like the E - and if you're a six footer the head room is limited.
The CLS rear end, especially in black, just isn't right. The rest of the car is awesome

AS long as you dont plan on using the back 2 seats to carry adults go for it, i think its more sporty and more exclusive car then the E, but love the E too

Why worry about who can fit in the back seat? The back seat was not made to carry adults, its primarely for insurance purpose,or to place things on if someone ie in the front passinger seat.

I considered the CLS55 when I got the E. I think the difference in the 2 cars was only about $5k (as equppied), and I chose the E. I just don't like something about the CLS lines. I do like the interior (i.e. cup holders), and the CLS does have more "sex" appeal. I'd trade the E for a CL55??!?

Nice the vehicle in your post and the car your dreaming of happens to be my car. That picture is of my CLS55 when I bought it new. Here is another.

I like the lines of the CLS in certain front and side angles, especially if it's in Black Opal Metallic or Pewter. However, if you look at the it from the back, it looks a little, though no where near the E60 5 series. If you want a sexy head turner, the CLS is the way to go.
For a married guy like me that is trying to lay as low as possible, I would stick with the clean, yet elegant lines of the E.

No, when I picked up my E55, I also almost tested the CLS. i'm 6'4" and had to crank my neck at a 90 degree angle to get in. Not paying that much and have so much difficulty getting in.

I am surprised that more of you do not think the CLS55 is more aesthetically pleasing. In my eyes, it is a work of art.
I'm not really thinking about trading my E55 but rather hoping to see a CLS55 next to her in the garage.

If I could...without any financial penalties...I would...my heart pounds too everytime I see one. Then when I see one with some fugly wheels, my heart drops...
