For those that have had installed, what was the result and break in period like? What was the sound and feel in inside the car?
Thanks

The header worked so well on my car I decided to do the cams. I installed a set in my CLK5.5 N/A motor. The motor still idles smooth, Maybe a very little intake pop , from the overlap. Most people would not notice it. They say on a Kompressor motor , the idle is a little lumpy , Hot and in gear. Inside you bearly notice it. All I can said , is Mine was smooth.
On a road test ,( after about 20 minutes at 1500 rpm. For break in. ) This mtr has rollers in the Rocker arms. From 3200 rpm to 6400 rpm it pulled hard. The OEM cams pulled good from 2400 rpm to 5800 rpm then struggled / climb slowly to 6200 rpm. I'm off to the Dyno next Thursday , Feb 9th, then meeting the Guy's at Moroso that night. We rented it for the night. I will post the results

Anyone have a dyno graph after cams illustrating the gains?
I'm sooooooo on the edge ready to pull the trigger on the cams. Perhaps I need to be coaxed just a bit more in that direction.

Way To Go PTE!!
PTE - Glad to here the cams worked out good for you. Raising the sweet spot 600 RPMS calls for a little more gear! Let us know how your times are at Moroso, and start another thread so your efforts are not berried in some other thread. Glad to hear you are still tuning on the CLK! - Bob

Thanks for the reply's
I picked up my car today, with K4 & lsd. The car is incredible, the cam make a big difference, it pulls hard. My only concern is I am getting a vibration why idle, other than that I am EXTREMELY happy. Spoke with RPM and they are going to check with Cory, and make adjustment to smoothen the idle. Also they download the new ECU software which ads another 20hp according Cory. So they tell me that my K4 is about 650hps, now I need to get to a Dyno to get some real rwhp, I'm hoping for at least 550rwhp, but thet guy at rpm said why would expect about 580rwhp, that would be great. I raced a couple of cars on the way home, no contest, one was a Charger r/t with a hemi, no competition. I was pulling on him hard.
Now on the LSD, WOW what a difference, if your going K2 or higher this is must. The guy's who say you don't need, say it because they haven't experience it. Before I had a hard time getting the rubber to catch, with K2, even when rolling at 50mph it would still spin and chirp, the power wasn't be delivered on demand. Now with 650hps on rolling launch it takes off like a rocket. From standstill very little spin, it catch much faster launch, I'd say about at least 50% better, at least, even my brother in law who test drove the car and was one of the nay say is a believer now. He was very impressed on how quickly it launched with all that power and torque being put down. I am ride on Conti, not the almight PS2, I can only imagine how it grip with the PS2.
In a couple a weeks, when I settle the vibration with Cory, and I get this car on a dyno, I will write more extensive review, with pic's and graphs and some videos, and sound clip, the header are awesome. As soon as the weather get better I will also get ths monster on the track to get some 1/4 mile numbers.
If you got the $$$, it worth every penny. BUT YOU NEED THE LSD so leave some room for that.

Congrats! That vibration you're talking about is normal according to Cory. I have the same thing but it's hardly noticeable at least for me. Actually i kind of like it. But i'm glad you're happy with the results. Pls post dyno once you have it.

thing is it come and goes, sometimes when the car is in park or drive at 600rpms it's smooth, then sometimes it seems like it jumping forward. Like it want to jump out of it shell. seems unnatural. Expect it to sound a little different, but with the its jumping I sitting in the car and I am shaking too. I have them take another look at it. Other then than I LOVE IT!

If you are in cold weather states. It sounds like the idle air Bypass solenoid/ motor that controls the idle rpm ,in or out of gear maybe sticking ?? If you throttle body has one?? It all so help to keep the idle rpm stable when the air conditioning compressor engages. The lub for the gears inside maybe thick or picked up some moisture?? Of Coarse I may be why off here!
I will post the dyno results next weekend.
jamE55 , were is your dyno sheets , you know , Before the install and then after . The Butt dyno is working , but we just gotta KNOW!!

Not Successfull!!
can drive 55 - I made several attempts with the Moderator and was never successful at getting my password and user name straightened out. The Moderator’s response was very slow (week and a half to respond back to me). So I gave up and just registered again because I wanted to get back on the forum. I guess the Moderator is a busy guy and has other things more pressing than my User Name and Password. - Bob
